Mr. Halteman joined the John C. Myers staff in the fall of 2014. Before arriving here, he taught at one of our sister schools, Lacey Springs Elementary from 2005 through 2014. He is a Eastern Mennonite University graduate, Class of 2005. Mr. Halteman's favorite quote is "You're here. You take up space. You matter," from Kid President. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Sara and two boys, Zachary and Elijah.
Mrs. Kathy Moorman, Fifth Grade Teacher
After graduating with a degree in theater and working as a stage manager for several years Mrs. Moorman decided to pursue a career in education. Mrs. Moorman began her teaching career in Miami, Florida where she taught Pre-K for two years. She then moved to California, where upon completing a Master’s degree in Education she taught bilingual (Spanish) gifted fourth and fifth graders for the next twelve years. From 2000-2004 she began teaching part-time in various capacities in order to spend more time at home with her growing family including serving as the gifted teacher/coordinator for a middle school. After a few years as a stay-at-home mom, she returned to teaching Kindergarten full time in Miami.
Mrs. Moorman moved to Broadway in 2008 with her husband and three daughters and has loved teaching at JCMES. She enjoys outdoor activities including: camping, skiing, biking, canoeing, and hiking.

Mrs. Siler is a local graduate of Spotswood High School in Penn Laird, Virginia. Upon completion of her high school requirements she attended Mary Baldwin College. She started her career at McGaheysville Elementary and joined the John C. Myers staff in 2014 when she taught our 3rd Graders. In 2016 she moved to the fourth grade team . She enjoys time at home with her husband, Lee and Daughter, Leah. She has a puppy named Mollee and raises sheep on her small farm.
