Mrs. Bobbi Arbogast, Challenge Teacher
Mrs. Arbogast is a Rockingham County native graduating from Turner Ashby High School in 1981. She attended Blue Ridge Community College and received her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from James Madison in 1986. Much later in life (2000-2002) she attended Eastern Mennonite University and earned her Master's Degree specializing in Literacy Education. After taking a few years off from teaching, she earned her certification in Gifted Education and became a Challenge Teacher in 2004.
She started her career at Elkton Elementary School where she taught Kindergarten for two years, and first grade for nine years. She then transferred to Lacey Spring Elementary and taught second grade for 4 years. She then took a leave from teaching in 2002, and returned as a part time Challenge Teacher at Lacey Spring Elementary in 2004. In 2006, she accepted a full time position as Challenge Teacher at Lacey Springs Elementary and John C. Myers Elementary.
Her favorite quote is "Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new." She enjoys time with her husband Steve Arbogast, daughter Callie and step son Jeremy.
Mrs. Debbie Rhodes, Computer Assistant
Mrs. Rhodes has lived in the Broadway area all of her life. After working in the medical field, she began working for RCPS as a substitute in 1996 when the last of her 3 children entered kindergarten. Her children were re-districted to JCMES in 1998. She subbed in the office to help open the school and raise money for the playground. In 1999, she accepted a part-time office position at Plains Elementary and transferred into the same position at JCMES a year later where she worked until becoming the computer lab assistant in 2006. She loves spending time with her family, reading, going to the movies, and binge watching TV series on snow days! She lives with her husband, one son, and 3 dogs on their family farm.
