Dear JCMES Families,
Thank you for the many donations of canned food items for our kindness week food drive. We have enjoyed seeing excited students bringing in their canned goods and contributing with their peers to a worthy cause. Our SCA has also done a great job this week collecting, sorting and providing us with some updates. As of today second grade was in the lead! We will continue to take donations until Friday.

Friday, March 1 - Youth Art Month Kick Off 5:00-7:00pm - We are so excited to partner with Hess Financial located in downtown Harrisonburg to show off some of our students’ amazing artwork. Our art teacher, Mrs. Janae Flores, has been working with students for the past several months to create pieces to enter into the art show. Any student that would like their artwork featured can contribute! Check with your child to see if he/she entered a piece. Artwork will be on display (some framed and some in albums) at Hess Financial the month of March and a special open house will take place on March 1st from 5-7pm during downtown Harrisonburg’s First Friday event!
Tuesday, March 5 - No School - Teacher workday/inservice day - JCM is a voting location for the presidential primary
Thursday, March 7 - Tuesday, March 12 - PTO Spring Auction Online
The PTO Spring Auction is coming soon! In less than a month our PTO will host the biggest fundraiser of the year, our online auction! Two weeks ago a paper went home with families to help us identify local businesses that may be interested in making a donation to our auction. If you are able to help with the auction or know of a business or individual that may want to donate an item please return the form or reach out to our auction coordinator, Mallory, by emailing jcmesauction@gmail.com. Watch for class plates, local donated items and teacher experience packages in the auction!
