Dear JCMES Families,
Our weekly update comes to you on one of the windiest days we can recall! Our thoughts are with those that are navigating wind damage, downed trees and fires. Fortunately, at this point we are able to continue with our program this evening and have power at JCM.
Thank you so much to all that supported our PTO’s spring auction. Preliminary numbers look like about $23,000 was raised to support programs, students and teachers at JCMES! This is an incredible number! While there are certainly countless people that assisted, we’d like to give a special shoutout to our auction coordinators Mallory Coffman and Ashley Skelly as well as the artist behind the class plates, Erin Sauder.

Wednesday, March 20 & Thursday, March 21 - First and Fourth Grade Musical Program 6:30pm
*Doors open at 6:00pm and students should arrive by 6:15 please. Wednesday, March 20 will feature Mrs. Alyssa Green’s class, Mrs. Boyer’s class, Mrs. Hatcher’s class and Ms. Clifford’s class. Tomorrow’s show will feature Mrs. Lacey Clarke’s class, Ms. Bazzle’s class, Mr. Shifflett’s class and Mr. Grix’ class.
Friday, March 22 - Character Spirit Day! Wear your favorite character shirt or dress like your favorite character. No scary costumes or masks please.
Monday, March 25th - Monday, April 1 - No School - Spring Break! The school will be closed next week during Spring Break. Teachers return on Monday, April 1st and the first day back for students will be Tuesday, April 2nd. If assistance is needed over break, please email an administrator. We encourage teachers to unplug from school communication and recharge. We have nine busy weeks of school ahead and want to bring our best energy back from break!
Smile Virginia, a traveling dental clinic, will be coming to JCMES on Friday, April 12 and Monday, May 6. This is a wonderful opportunity for any student who currently doesn't have a dental provider that sees them on a regular basis. Some of the services they will be providing include: dental cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatments, sealants, fillings, and extractions. If you are interested in your child receiving dental services, please complete the form in its ENTIRETY (INCLUDING INSURANCE INFORMATION AND SIGNATURE) and return it to school or register online at https://www.myschooldentist.com/JCRCVA_schsrm. ALL FORMS AND ONLINE REGISTRATIONS ARE DUE ON OR BEFORE MONDAY, APRIL 8.
