Dear JCMES Families,
Well hello spring! We are absolutely loving this warm weather! Students are outside for recess, some PE classes and at times teachers take the show on the road and bring lessons outside to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. We have exciting things happening inside the school building too such as our fifth grade musical which happens tomorrow! Students have worked hard over the past few months to write and perform their own show and all are invited to see their performance Thursday night at 6:30pm. Mrs. Branner was able to watch a sneak peek this afternoon and promises you’re in for a treat. There is no charge and it is open to all families.
We have a few more important announcements for families this week:
We’d love your input! Please use this form to provide input on your child's class placement for the upcoming school year. Class placements are created based on a complex list of factors including student academic ability to be thoughtful and balanced throughout each class, related services that require students to be pulled out of general education classes to be considered and balanced, student social emotional needs and placing students in classrooms where there are other students with similar interests in order for them to have peers to relate to. Please do not make requests for specific teachers. We will collect input forms until April 25th.
Reminder: morning drop off should occur through the pick up line or please park in the bottom lot and walk up if you would like to regularly walk your child to the door. The 15 minute parking spots should be used for parents that are signing in at the office or delivering an item such as a forgotten lunch box, class snacks, or medication drop off.
It’s almost camp season! We are starting to receive many emails about summer activities for kids, particularly sports camps at various schools in the area. To keep these in one place for parents, they can be found on our website under ‘Parent Resources’. Thursday, April 18 - 6:30pm - Fifth Grade Musical - Written and performed by some of our fifth graders! Come out and see their amazing work!
Thursday, April 25 - 6:00-7:30pm - Family Fun: International Night + Spirit Day! - Join us for our evening event with the whole family to learn more about cultures around the world, participate in games, dance, crafts and more! We would also invite students to wear something to school such as a souvenir shirt from someplace you love, have traveled to, or might like to go! Traditional clothing that celebrates family heritage is welcome too!
