Dear JCMES Families,
March is almost here, and it's shaping up to be a busy and exciting month! Be sure to check out our family calendar because it’s packed with great events, starting with Dr. Seuss Week for Kindergarten next week. While this is a fun tradition for our youngest learners, everyone is welcome to join in on the simple daily spirit themes! We’re also looking forward to three evening events this month—the 2nd Grade Music Performance, our rescheduled Family Fun Night, and the Fifth Grade Musical.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to share that our Spring Family Picnics will take place April 28 - May 1! Each class is assigned a day to head outside for a picnic lunch, and families are invited to join their child at school. Bring a blanket, chairs, and a packed lunch (if you choose), and enjoy a beautiful spring afternoon together. Teachers will be sending out exact schedules soon, but for now, mark your calendars for this special week!
Also, PreK and Kindergarten registration is happening next week, March 4-6. If you know families with rising PreK or Kindergarten students, please encourage them to complete the online registration and visit the school during registration hours.

PreK & Kindergarten Registration (March 4-6)
March 4 & 6: 9 AM - 2 PM
March 5: 9 AM - 7 PM
PreK students must be 4 by September 30, 2025
Kindergarten students must be 5 by September 30, 2025
Families should register online at rcps.net and bring required paperwork to school.
Book Cart – March 5 & 13
Students can purchase books for just $0.25 each during their designated Book Cart day!

2nd Grade Music Performance (March 6 @ 6:30 PM)
Join us for an evening of music as our second graders showcase their hard work!
Book Fair in the Library (March 17-21)
A great time to pick up some new books and encourage reading at home!

This rescheduled event will highlight STEM and Specials with hands-on activities for the whole family!
