The crisp fall air and colorful leaves are setting the perfect scene for a festive week at school. Our students are buzzing with excitement as we’re enjoying plenty of autumn-themed fun and learning. Upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held Monday, November 3rd from 12:00-7:00pm. We would like for every parent to attend conferences if possible so that we can share report card information and beginning of the year data. Make sure to reach out to your child’s teacher to schedule a conference. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Online Book eFair
John C. Myers Library is hosting a Follett online book eFair. The online book fair will run from November 3rd - 16th. All purchases can be made using this link and enter our Book eFair code: 45345. This is a great opportunity to purchase books to help benefit our school. Thank you for your support!
Fundraiser Pick Up: Items ordered through our recent school fundraiser will be available for pick up on November 3rd from 12pm-7pm, our Parent Teacher Conference day. On that day you’ll in the red hallway. Follow the signs.
Spirit Store Item Pick Up: Great news! Our JCMES Spirit Store items have arrived. If you ordered items from the store, please email Lolita Whetzel(lwhetzel@rockingham.k12.va.us) or give us a call in the front office (540.896.2297) to let us know if you’d like to pick up your items here or if it’s okay to send them home with your student.
Spirit Week Dress Up Days are Here!
Our SCA is sponsoring Red Ribbon Spirit Week, a time to celebrate and have a little fun with dress up days to show our commitment to staying drug-free. Please leave scary costumes and masks at home. Here’s the schedule for the rest of the week:

PTO Sign Ups
We’re so grateful for the many families who help make our school feel like a community, and we’d love to invite you to get involved in whatever way fits your schedule. In this Google form, you can let us know if you’re interested in supporting the PTO by donating teacher snacks, greeting families at fundraiser nights, helping with events like Field Day, or assisting with the annual auction. Every helping hand—big or small—makes a meaningful difference for our students and staff!

Class pictures and make up pictures will be held Nov. 13th. Class pictures can be ordered from strawbridge.net using the code below:
Toy Policy Reminder
To minimize distractions during class time and prevent special toys from home from getting lost, our policy is that toys need to be kept in backpacks during the school day. We are proud of how well our students have done in upholding this policy during the first days of school! We understand that students may bring toys and trading cards to play with at after-school daycare programs, which is perfectly fine. However, during the school day, all toys and trading cards must remain in backpacks. Rest assured, we have plenty of recess equipment for outdoor play, and our classrooms are well-stocked with toys, manipulatives, and games. Additionally, for students who need them, we have a wide variety of fidget items available for sensory support. Teachers may still allow students to bring toys on special days for rewards or projects, and you’ll receive information about that in advance. We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a focused and fun learning environment for all students.
